Kate Short (she/her) is an actor-musician based in NYC. She is passionate about stories that interweave deep truths and diverse musical expressions. Some favorite roles include The Soprano in Dave Malloy’s “Ghost Quartet” at Princeton Summer Theater and an actor-musician Cathy Hyatt in Jason Robert Brown’s “The Last Five Years.” Frequenting NYC indie-rock staples such as Arlene’s Grocery with her indie-rock band (Kate Short & the Long Haul), she feels led to projects that draw upon a deep-rooted sense of musical connection and grounded style. Having studied Comparative Literature at Princeton, she is also passionate about translated works and creating theatrical connections across languages, national borders, and art mediums. She produced her own translated adaptation of Pascal Rambert’s Clôture de l’amour at Princeton’s "Seuls en Scène” French Theater Festival in 2022.
